RRTCDM

Collaborative Decision Making (CDM) is a method to increase data exchange between actors in the transport chain, and thus achieve increased efficiency and reduced handling and transport costs. In the RRTCDM project, the concept of import and export flows is tested and evaluated at the combination terminal Solåsen in Jönköping as a test case.

RRTCDM stands for Rail Road Terminal Collaborative Decision Making, and the terminal operator Transab and the train operator GDL participate in the project. The project is included as a Living Lab in FEDeRATED and runs until December 2023.

The concept includes the development of process descriptions that identify physical, and administrative events and coordination points as well as the collective information needs of the actors involved, with the aim of creating consensus. The documents from this Living Lab will then be used as a basis for setting up and demonstrating a standardized digital exchange of real-time information between the actors.

The goal of the project is to create more efficient collaborations between the intermodal terminal, shipping companies, train operators and truck operators. This is by creating opportunities for digital collaborations regarding forecasting of available capacity to increase the degree of occupancy of train commuters. The project also examines how the sharing of train lists can be made more efficient with the help of digital tools in order to reduce manual measures and ensure quality.

RRTCDM is part of FEDeRATED, an open infrastructure for data sharing for freight transport and logistics.
