CLOSER works within the focus area of Digitalised Logistics to ensure that the industry takes advantage of the opportunities offered by data-driven logistics and digital innovation. Knowledge and experiences between players and the logistics system are shared through dialogue and collaboration. Your organisation's needs are addressed and can be translated into projects and solutions that lead to a sustainable and digitalised system and society in accordance with Agenda 2030 and the Paris Agreement.

The transport sector is in a transition where, among other things, digital development is evolving rapidly. With the aid of digitalisation, new possibilities are opening up for increased efficiency and better resource utilisation in logistics and transport systems. Connected vehicles, digital infrastructure and new business models are a few elements that, together, constitute the transport solution of the future. Digital technology will allow the industry to better address changing patterns of trade and customers' requirements for increased transparency, quality and sustainability.

How can a transport system be driven by knowledge?

As digitalisation in society increases, so does the amount of available data. Data that, if used correctly, can provide insights that drive us forward and create new ways of working and organising ourselves. In order for us to be able to manage and streamline future data-driven transport solutions, we not only need to develop artificial intelligence, machine learning and other technologies, but also well-functioning regulations and policies that enable a more efficient and safer sharing of data between organisations, something that CLOSER is working on in a number of projects.

Transparent transport solutions are more efficient!

Digitalisation and the ability to share data make our transport solutions more efficient. When we work together between different industries and share data, conditions to increase the use of each mode of transport, streamline each route and create better flows throughout Sweden's transport system are created.

The digital infrastructure - how does it change our transport solutions?

A digital infrastructure that facilitates data sharing and use of data is a prerequisite for new ideas in digitisation. Ideas that in turn lead to efficient and climate-smart transport solutions.

Cooperation and interoperability

The different areas of the transport system and supply chains need to be able to interact digitally and in real time. In order to achieve interoperability (the ability of different systems to operate together and be able to communicate with each other), we need to work together and across a range of sectors, both at national and international level.

How do we create logistics in the city on people's terms?

More and more people are moving to our cities, which places demands on an efficient and sustainable supply in the form of packages, food, building materials and efficient return and waste management. Together with our partners, CLOSER works to accelerate the development of, and the transition to, a sustainable and habitable city on people's terms.

How can long-distance transport become more efficient?

It is important in this regard to utilise the benefits of each individual mode of transport, the correct mode of transport for the correct task. In order to be able to use the most sustainable mode of transport for a route, it is absolutely crucial that we optimise the transfer between different modes of transport - it should be cost-effective, accessible and punctual.
