This project has aimed to understand the best approach to formatting a study exploring how proactive disruption information can be generated, presented, and tested among a group of travelers within Hallandstrafiken.

Conclusions and Future Perspectives

In this project, it has been found that the outcome cannot compete with prominent travel planning apps such as Google Maps or Citymapper when it comes to app development. However, it can play a significant role by improving the conditions under which these apps operate. This can be achieved by:

  • Providing an open stream of real-time data that informs about any deviations from schedules for all journeys and stops.
  • Inspiring third-party developers to create solutions that can proactively assist public transportation passengers during disruptions and contribute to a better understanding of the data needed in a given context, both during disruption situations and for passengers.
