How do we work at CLOSER with Agenda 2030?
The global goals in Agenda 2030 are central to CLOSER's work. But goal number 17 Implementation and Global Partnership is the goal from which the activities are based. Goal 17 is about partnership and collaboration, about solidarity and capacity development and the mobilization of financial resources. No one should be left out, everyone in society should be included. It's about innovation together. Just like the collaboration that CLOSER stands for.
It is important to balance all 17 goals and 169 sub-goals to ensure we are moving in the right direction and consciously review any goal conflicts. The work with Agenda 2030 is alive and constantly changing with new knowledge. We see the agenda as a whole, but with a special focus on some of the sub-goals that CLOSER, together with our partnership, directly affects. Goal 3 Good health and well-being
3.6 Reduce the number of deaths and injuries in road traffic

Within Citylogistics, one of the areas CLOSER focuses on, we work on developing a smart and safe traffic system with a focus on logistics. CLOSER places great emphasis on geofencing technology, which has great potential to ensure that speed limits in traffic are respected.

Goal 7 Sustainable energy for all
Within our focus area Energy supply, CLOSER, together with our partners, aims to put renewable energy into practice. But also ensure that access and use of renewable energy contributes to new and more efficient transport arrangements.
7.2 Increase the share of renewable energy in the world
CLOSER starts and runs projects, together with our partners, that strive to find solutions that increase the share of renewable energy for the freight transport system.
7.3 Double the increase in energy efficiency
CLOSER and our partnership develop and test new solutions that are more efficient and thus reduce the energy consumption of the transport system.
7.A Make research and technology available and invest in clean energy
We also work to strengthen collaborations between different actors to facilitate access to research and technology in clean energy, including renewable energy, energy efficiency and advanced and cleaner fossil fuel-based technology.

Goal 8 Decent working conditions and economic growth
8.4 Improve resource efficiency in consumption and production
CLOSER and our partners work with more efficient transport in a system perspective, by that we mean both directly and indirectly more efficient transport solutions.
Together, we want to achieve higher economic productivity through diversification, technological upgrading and innovation.
Our goal is also to contribute to Swedish industry being world-class with green technology as a guiding light. This by being a forerunner in the development of electric vehicles, production of fossil-free steel, green energy, digital development as support for more efficient planning and execution of transport. Innovations that contribute to green exports.
8.8 Protect workers' rights and promote a safe and secure work environment for all
We continuously evaluate how the partnership's project solutions affect various aspects of the employee's conditions. Within two of our projects, HITS & REEL, we work directly with this.

Goal 9 Sustainable industry, innovations and infrastructure. Core goal of CLOSER
9.1 Create sustainable, resilient and inclusive infrastructure Digitization
With our four focus areas city logistics, digitized logistics, long-distance transport and energy supply , together with our partners, we can enable long-distance transport with low CO2 emissions, a balanced interaction between goods and people in the city. A fair and accessible digital infrastructure for all and a charging infrastructure that increases the rate of electrification.
9.4 Upgrade all industry and infrastructure for increased sustainability
CLOSER together with our partners is involved in creating opportunities and shows prioritized areas for upgrading industry and infrastructure towards increased sustainability.
9.C Access to information and communication technology for all
Through smart innovations developed within CLOSER, we reduce the need to "build new". By using the infrastructure in a more efficient way and in addition providing support through new logistics arrangements, existing industries can create more value in the resources that are available.

11.2 Making sustainable transport systems available to all
11.3 Inclusive and sustainable urbanization
CLOSER works within our focus area City logistics for an efficient utilization of logistics flows in cities to be able to provide a good quality of services for increased population growth without an overutilization of land area.
11.6 Reduce the environmental impact of cities
We work together with our partners to streamline freight transport and logistics in the city within our focus area City Logistics. A more efficient freight transport system means fewer unnecessary transports and a lower proportion of air pollution.

Goal 12 Sustainable consumption and production
12.8 Increase the public's knowledge of sustainable lifestyles
CLOSER together with our partners promotes the idea of a circular economy, where today's waste becomes tomorrow's useful products and recycled materials. Logistics can affect the circular economy both directly through the transport work itself, and indirectly by ensuring that the most sustainable product ends up where it can be consumed in the most sustainable way.
Today, for example, CLOSER together with Relog and a large number of actors operate ASTER (Alliance for sustainable e-commerce), an investment with the goal that every e-commerce delivery in Sweden should contribute to a living society and be sustainable!

Planning to combat climate change is an obvious part of CLOSER and our partnership's activities.
