Logistics – particularly urban logistics – is increasingly in the spotlight. Both nations and the European Union are making significant investments to enhance the sustainability of logistics, addressing challenges such as emissions, congestion, and overall livability in our cities. During this lunch webinar, we dived into the concept of the Physical Internet, a transformative approach to logistics.
Professor Rod Franklin from Kühne Logistics University in Hamburg was the keynote speaker. During the webinar he introduced the fundamentals of the Physical Internet and its potential to revolutionize logistics systems. Following this, Jonas Höglund, Innovation Leader from CLOSER, Lindholmen Science Park, presented the DISCO project, an initiative funded by Horizon Europe. Rooted in the principles of the Physical Internet, the DISCO project engages 13 cities across Europe as living labs for cutting-edge logistics innovations.
