PayItForward - Digital solutions for increased recycling of textiles

PayItForward is a feasibility study that will investigate the conditions for more efficient e-commerce. The purpose of the feasibility study is to increase the lifespan of more products through the sale of recycled goods. This by creating lessons from various recycling organizations' business models and digital toolboxes, in order to create fact-based data that can enable sustainable and digital development for the voluntary organizations.

The textile industry faces a number of challenges to reduce its climate impact. In this feasibility study, we intend to address how digital solutions can contribute to increasing the amount of clothing that is reused in Sweden. Recycling will contribute to a great environmental benefit in the form of reduced emissions from new production of textiles and at the same time provide social benefits through the activities of voluntary organizations.

At present, voluntary organizations are limited in their development work and often rely on voluntary work, but with this project the ambition is to create opportunities for them to move forward together, with digitalisation as leverage, and enable more recycled goods to reach end consumers.
