Josephine Darlington is CLOSER's latest addition

Wednesday, October 2, 2019

"A new and exciting chapter in my life began on 1/9. I was given the opportunity to become a part of Lindholmen Science Park, which promotes many of the issues about which I am passionate and where I now have the opportunity to influence the outcome."

Josephine Darlington is a newly hired project manager at CLOSER, where she will work 50%. She will also work 50% of the time as a project coordinator at Drive Sweden. Her first project is a challenge-based innovation project called 'Smart Urban Traffic Zones'. The project is currently in stage 1 until the beginning of December, which entails breaking down the problem and building the consortium before stage 2, which will start with an application in January 2020. Smart urban traffic zones fall under the geofencing umbrella that CLOSER runs in parallel and involves creating zones that contain two-way communication between infrastructure vehicles. The first workshop in Stockholm was held on 25/9 with a great deal of involvement and interest in the topic.

The next workshop will be held in Gothenburg on 10/10 with previously discussed pilots involving speed adaptation for vehicles on service routes, smart traffic zones for the future's smaller mobility solutions and smart traffic zones around larger events in the city.
