Electrification of the forest sector's heavy road transport

Monday, October 7, 2024

Is it even possible to electrify forestry transport? We in the research and innovation project TREE believe so! Therefore, we would like to invite you to a webinar 20 November, 09.30-11.30 where we review the state of research regarding the electrification of heavy forest transport.

The meeting will be held in Swedish.

Electrification of road transport is seen by many as an impossibility. It involves new investments, has different limitations and there are cultural challenges. Range and charging are two given considerations, but also vehicle weight and transport planning can present new logistical challenges. At the same time, a completely new workplace is being created with major improvements in the driver's environment, and in the electric trucks that are already running, the drivers seem satisfied and do not want to go back to the diesel trucks.

But does it really work in the complex environment of the forest sector, which is also often far away from the facilities of the urban area? The researchers answer this and other questions during the webinar.

Bring your questions, concerns and hopes with you and register by November 19 at the latest.

We look forward to meeting you online!
The webinar is free of charge.
