Cargo Express takes the next step: developing a scenario based on the needs of transport buyers

The focus is on starting from the priorities and requirements of transport buyers, where factors such as cost, lead time, punctuality, and capacity are central — but where sustainability is becoming an increasingly important parameter. In collaboration with USN, we are combining quantitative and qualitative methods to ensure that the scenario is well grounded in the market’s needs and real-world conditions.

An important project partner is ASKO Maritime, a pioneer in developing new sea-based logistics solutions. With their electric autonomous vessels operating between Horten and Moss, ASKO has demonstrated that it is possible to shift freight from road to sea in a sustainable way. Their experiences and lessons are highly valuable for Cargo Express as we explore how solutions that combine maritime transport with other modes can be scaled up and applied in more parts of the region. This autumn, the developed scenario will be tested and further refined in close dialogue with key stakeholders from the business sector. Through upcoming workshops and interviews, we will ensure that it is both relevant and feasible, while also gathering valuable feedback that can lead to adjustments and clarifications before moving on to the next phase of the project.

Cargo Express thus continues to move forward step by step — from data collection and analysis to concretizing possible solutions for the sustainable logistics of the future in our region.
