Applied AI shall build experience, knowledge and create new collaborations
The initiative AI Enhanced Mobility shall build experience, knowledge and create new collaborations in applied AI within the mobility sector, this to create conditions and solutions for sustainable mobility systems.
AI Enhanced Mobility is a Vinnova financed project managed by Drive Sweden, CLOSER, AI Sweden and SAFER, running from June 2022 to December 2023.
Together with 31 partners from public, private and the academic sector we are taking part of the transformation to accelerate the development of AI solutions in the mobility system by creating new projects, collaborations, and knowledge.
Sweden has a vision to take a leading role in the development of the future mobility system for people and goods that is sustainable, safe, and available for all. AI has a great potential to increase efficiency and societal impact in mobility systems and is a leading technology for innovation, economic growth, and societal change.
We saw a need to increase knowledge and strengthen the networks between AI actors and mobility actors to accelerate the development of sustainable mobility. 31 committed partners chose to join the project and that says quite a lot about the interest in exploring the topic together in the next coming 1,5 years.

The project consists of three focus groups, Traffic Safety, Efficient freight transport and Public Transport.
In November two pre-studies were initiated by the focus group Traffic Safety – “Intention Recognition of Vulnerable Road Users” and “Improve traffic safety through advanced and automatic driving evaluations using AI and eye tracking”. We look forward to follow the progress, read more here:
