Interactive seminar and network event

It is our great pleasure to invite you to a networking seminar on Connectivity in Scandinavian and Northern European infrastructure, jointly hosted by the German-Danish-Swedish STRING Network and Region Skåne, chairman of STRING, in cooperation with the European Commission.

The networking seminar gives you the opportunity to network with government officials, regional politicians and business representatives from Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland. Interest groups as well as educational and research institutions are invited to participate in a dialogue on the future trans-regional infrastructure in Scandinavia and northern Europe.

Confirmed speakers include Pat Cox, European Coordinator for the TEN-T Scandinavian-Mediterranean Core Network Corridor, Hans Christian Schmidt, Danish Minister for Transport and Housing, Erik Bromander, State Secretary to the Swedish Minister for Infrastrcture, Lena Erixon, Director General of the Swedish Transport Administration, Tørk Furhauge, CEO of Pågen AB, Tina Karlberg, City Account Manager at Siemens, Gudmund Vollbrecht, Senior Adviser at IKEA AB and Michael Svane, CEO of the Confederation of Danish Industries and vice Chairman of Fehmarn Belt Business Council. The seminar will be moderated by Marc-Christoph Wagner, German-Danish journalist based in Copenhagen.

The focus of the event is:

  • Trans-regional infrastructure under TEN-T, the European transport network, a cross- border transport network free of bottlenecks, an integrated market, along with a sustainable transport system.
  • The Fehmarn Belt Fixed Link, a future game changer which will create new development possibilities for Sweden, Denmark and Germany to seize and maximise.
  • The ongoing plans for high speed railroads to Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland which further connects the regions, enlarging our labour market and education opportunities, whilst enhancing our innovation and business exchange.

The event aims to discuss an integrated approach of these thematics and the bigger picture taking into account the macro-region Oslo-Gothenburg-Malmö-Copenhagen-Hamburg.

You are very welcome to take part in this high-level dialogue on the future infrastructural changes that lies ahead of us, and how our different nations can mobilise in order to maximise their effects.

Should you have any questions, please contact Kajsa Svensson for more further information.
